The Unity Laboratories Psychotropic Test
The Unity Laboratories Psychotropic test analyzes how your genes may affect your outcomes with medications commonly prescribed to treat depression, anxiety, ADHD, and other mental health conditions. The GeneSight Psychotropic test provides your clinician with information about which medications may require dose adjustments, may be less likely to work for you or may have an increased risk of side effects based on your genetic makeup.
Our Services
Hereditary Cancer (CGX)
A (CGx) carcinogenetic test identifies specific, inheritable gene mutations that may increase a patient’s risk of developing or redeveloping cancer. Gain insight as this test will analyze genes and tumor markers, including BRCA1, BRCA2, ATM, COH1, MLH1, HSH2, MSH6, and PTEN.
Cardiovascular Disease (CardioGX)
Inherited heart conditions are passed on through families and are caused by a change (or mutation) in one or more of a patient’s genes. There are many types of inherited heart conditions, including Cardiomyopathy,Arrhythmia, Arteriopathy, Familial Hypercholesterolemia (FH)
Parkinson’s-Altzheimer’s-Dementia (PAD)
Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, and genetic disorders that cause dementia. Genes play a role in the development of many types of dementia. A patient with a parent or sibling with dementia such as Alzheimer’s disease has on average a higher risk of developing the same condition themselves.
Pharmacogenetics (PGX)
Pharmacogenetics test (PGX) focuses on how your patient’s body metabolizes drug enzymes and the results will provide you with useful insight as to which medications are more useful, less useful and those that are potentially harmful.
Diabetes-Obesity
Patients with a personal and/or family history suggestive of monogenic diabetes and obesity related disorders. These conditions may occur independently or as clinical features of a genetic syndrome.
Genetic Counseling
A genetic test that identifies a pathogenic variant is provided via a clinical laboratory report. Unity Laboratories provides genetic counseling services for both the doctor and the patient. Incorporating a pro-active risk screening and management
Hereditary Genetic Testing
Unity Laboratories. offers a full suite of genetic-based tests including cancer (CGX), cardiovascular disease (CardioGx), Alzheimers-Parkinson-dementia (PAD), diabetes, and pharmacogenetics (PGX). Comprehensive and diverse gene panels provide clinical providers with extensive insight into their patient’s hereditary risks based on their specific genetic makeup..

Genes on the Unity Laboratories Psychotropic Report
Pharmacokinetic genes tell us what the body does to the medication. These genes provide information on how a patient may break down certain medications.
CYP2D6 | CYP2C19 | CYP2C9 |
CYP3A4 | CES1A1 | CYP2B6 |
CYP1A2 | UGT1A4 | UGT2B15 |
Pharmacodynamic genes tell us what the medication does to the body. These genes provide information on likelihood of response and/or risk of side effects for certain medications.
SLC6A4 | HLA-A*3101 | ADRA2A |
HTR2A | HLA-B*1502 |
These genotypes are included on the report for informational purposes only.
